  2. MouseStick II Software Installation

  5. INSTALLATION:
  6. ‚óä Click the "Install" button.
  7.  
  8. The MouseStick Installer will install the MouseStick II software in the correct locations on your current startup disk. The MouseStick II software will be active after you restart your computer.

  10. The installation includes the MouseStick II control panel, an assortment of MouseStick Sets and a ‚ÄúRead Me (MouseStick)‚Äù file.

  12. The ‚ÄúRead Me (MouseStick)‚Äù file contains important information that was not available when the manual was prepared.

  14. Control Panel
  15. The MouseStick II control panel is installed in the Control Panels folder (System 7) or the System Folder (System 6) on your startup disk. The MouseStick II control panel is required for the MouseStick to function correctly.

  17. MouseStick Sets
  18. A MouseStick Sets folder will be installed in your System Folder. The MouseStick Sets folder contains MouseStick control settings for many popular games.

  21. PowerBook Patch
  22. PowerBook 160 and 180 models (i.e., 165c, 180 & 180c) require an additional extension file from Apple to use some ADB devices such as the MouseStick II. This file, "PowerBook 160/180 ADB Patch", is provided by Apple and may only be used under the terms and conditions of their licensing agreement.

  24. To select the PowerBook Patch for installation and to read the Aple License Agrrement, click the "PowerBook Patch..." button.

  26. If you agree with Apple's license terms, select the PowerBook Patch option and press the OK button. Pressing the Install button will include the PowerBook Patch in the installation.

  28. This file is not required or recommended for other PowerBook models.

  31. INSTALLATION NOTES:
  32. If you are updating an earlier version of the MouseStick II software it must be removed from the Control Panels and System Folder. Make a backup copy of your earlier version MouseStick software before continuing.

  34. If the install program encounters files with the same name you will be asked for confirmation before the files are replaced.

  36. Some virus-protection programs (GateKeeper, SAM, Virex, etc.) may warn you about some of the Installer's operations. This is normal. Allow the install program to proceed. You may find it easier to disable any virus-protection programs before running the installer.

  38. If you are using an INIT or System Extension software management program, you may have to enable the MouseStick II control panel to make it to load during your computer‚Äôs start up sequence.

  40. The newly installed MouseStick II software will not be active until you restart your computer.
